GTAKE provides EV motor controllers and EV motor control units for electric and hybrid vehicle applications, with controller solutions covering a wide range of power requirements. For small and medium commercial vehicles, GTAKE’s electric bus motor controller solution is designed to support stable and efficient electric drive systems with flexible motor and vehicle configurations.
The small and medium bus drive solution is mainly designed for 6–10m pure electric commercial vehicles. The electric drive system has a rated power range of 45–80kW and supports battery DC voltage platforms of 300V and above, including configurations such as 312V, 336V, 384V, 540V and 580V.
Depending on vehicle and motor requirements, the solution can be configured with either a permanent magnet synchronous motor or an AC asynchronous motor. GTAKE’s EV traction motor controller platform also supports modular N+N configurations, including a single master drive, a master drive with multiple auxiliary units, and multiple accessory drive combinations.
For vehicle manufacturers and powertrain developers, the solution combines the electric vehicle motor controller, battery pack, motor and vehicle management controller into an integrated electric drive architecture.
Solution Applications
The electric bus motor controller solution is intended for small and medium electric commercial vehicles where stable traction control, torque response, efficiency and environmental adaptability are important.
Typical applications include:
- 6–10m pure electric buses
- Electric reception and shuttle vehicles
- Light commercial electric vehicles
- Electric logistics vehicles
- Special-purpose electric vehicles
The solution can be configured according to the vehicle’s battery voltage, motor type, required power and operating conditions, making it suitable for different commercial electric vehicle platforms.
Electric Bus Drive System Configuration
A typical EV drive system consists of the battery pack, EV controller, motor and vehicle-level management controller.
Battery Pack → EV Controller → Motor
The battery pack provides DC electrical energy to the traction system. The EV motor controller regulates the electrical power delivered to the traction motor according to vehicle control signals and operating conditions, enabling controlled motor speed and torque. The EV management controller coordinates vehicle-level commands and communicates with the drive system.
This architecture allows the electric vehicle motor controller to serve as the key power-control interface between the battery and traction motor, supporting smooth acceleration, efficient power delivery and stable vehicle operation.
