Application Case of GK900M in MIII Bus Communication of a Certain CNC System
With the continuous acceleration of the “Made in China 2025” plan, CNC machining technology has been widely applied in various fields of industrial control. The competitiveness of domestic CNC system manufacturers has generally been rapidly improved. Their mainstream CNC systems have basically covered the medium and high-end machine tool market, and their market competitiveness has been further enhanced.
Traditional CNC systems usually adopt analog signal control and pulse signal control, which are characterized by a single type of transmission command, slow transmission speed, and inconvenience in debugging and maintenance. To meet the requirements of high-precision machining, most mainstream CNC machine tools have switched to industrial Ethernet communication control, such as ProfiNET, EtherCAT, Mechatrolink-III, etc.
MIII Bus Communication Control Scheme
MIII bus communication, whose full name is Mechatrolink-III bus communication, boasts advantages such as high data transmission speed, high real-time performance and high synchronization performance. A single frame of data transmission supports the switching of position, speed and torque control modes, and can transmit multiple types of data in real time synchronously, such as motor status and encoder feedback, which can meet the strict requirements of multi-axis linkage machining on control accuracy.
The GTAKE MIII bus communication control scheme consists of the standard product GK900M and CM33 (MIII communication expansion card), with its wiring schematic diagram as shown on the left.
Scheme effect
High-speed: It features a high transmission rate of 100 Mbps and short communication delays, with a minimum communication cycle of 250 μs.
Easy maintenance: The CM33 card comes standard with two RJ45 interfaces (one input and one output) and has a built-in simple switch function, facilitating networking.
High reliability: It boasts high reliability and strong anti-interference capability.
The GK900M Series is engineered for the relentless demands of modern machine-tool environments. Ultra-precise rotation control at maximum speed and torque guarantees parts with micron-level accuracy and mirror-smooth finishes—every cycle, every job. It also accelerates tapping cycles and other specialty machining operations, unlocking higher throughput without compromising quality.
